Eighth-grade girls talk toys with execs
April 24, 2006
FIVE eighth grade girls from Borel Middle School in San Mateo had an opportunity to show their design for a toy Tuesday to top executives from Applied Materials.
Sarah Jacobs, Rachel Marcus, Marcela Nadel, Julia Pavicic and Julia Borden created a game as part of the Sally Ride Toy Challenge Contest, a national contest designed to empower girls to explore the world of science.
Each of the executives gave pointers to the girls on how they could improve their product and presentation for the upcoming Sally Ride Toy Challenge National Championship in San Diego on April 29.
